The Children’s Center Utah Receives $50,000 Community Health Improvement Grant from CommonSpirit Health to Expand Access to Effective Early Childhood Mental Health Services in Utah

WEST VALLEY CITY, UT–April 15, 2026– The Children’s Center Utah received a $50,000 grant from CommonSpirit Health to support center-based clinical mental health services for underserved children in Utah.

“We are deeply pleased to lend support through our CommonSpirit Community Health Improvement Grant program to these exceptional organizations as they engage in critical, life-changing work in our communities,” said Andrew Gaasch, Mountain Region President. “Their efforts align perfectly with our mission: to improve the health of the people we serve, especially those who are vulnerable, while we advance social justice for all. This initiative reflects our unwavering focus on caring for our communities and addressing their most pressing health challenges with compassion and innovation.”

Demand for infant and early childhood mental health services continues to grow across Utah, particularly among families facing barriers to timely care. This grant strengthens upstream intervention efforts, allowing more children and families to receive support early in life, before mental health challenges become more severe.

The Children’s Center Utah was one of 55 organizations in the Mountain Region to receive $1.5 million in grant funding in 2026. More than 300 community-based organizations applied for grants this year.

“This grant will help us expand access to critical and effective early childhood mental health services for young children, their families and caregivers, ensuring they receive support during the most formative years of development,” said Rebecca Dutson, president and CEO of The Children's Center Utah. “We are deeply grateful to CommonSpirit Health for helping us reach more children earlier, when intervention can make the greatest difference.”
