PM Breakout Session - It Takes a Village: Supporting Young Children Through Cross-Disciplinary Perspectives in Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health
Heather Thomas serves as the director of the Office of Child Care in the Department of Workforce Services where she oversees child care assistance and quality initiatives for the state. The Office of Child Care partners with the Children's Center Utah in their Early Childhood Coaching and Consultation Program. Prior to working in various roles for the Office of Child Care over the last six years, she taught for over a decade in pre-k and kindergarten classrooms where she developed her passion for serving children and families in the early childhood space. She has a Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in reading and literacy from the University of Utah, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and French from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a current Utah K-6 Teaching License.
