Consultation Services

The Early Childhood Consultation and Training Program offers a variety of services to childcare centers, preschools, and other programs serving infants and young children.

  • Onsite training for teachers and caregivers that emphasizes social-emotional development, positive guidance techniques and developmentally appropriate practice.
  • Onsite consultation reinforcing specific training topics or to observe and support specific children or teachers.
  • Technical assistance for programs participating in the Two's Grant program offered through the Office of Child Care.
  • Consultation for program administrators to plan and assist in overall quality improvement, including use of professional development plans, state licensing standards, CDA competency standards, NAEYC accreditation criteria, Head Start Performance Standards, Infant/Toddler Rating Scales (ITERS) or other measurement and quality improvement tools.
